Eiffel Tower

The Eiffel Tower is best approached from the Trocadero side (Metro Trocadero - Line 6 or 9).

From the back right hand leg (looking from Trocadero) you can walk up to the second floor and then take the lift from here to the top. In my opinion this is the nicest way of going up as the stairs take you through the structure. An added bonus is that the queue is usually shorter.

Many people are put off going up because of the queues. At peak periods waiting times can be in excess of two hours. Don’t be put off though, it is worth the wait. The view from the top is fantastic and you can easily pick out the sites that you have visited during your trip. A good time to go up the tower is around dusk when you can watch the “city of light” gradually light-up. The tower itself is lit up at night and glitters on the hour.
